Tukiendorf Training Institute offers an EKG Technician Certification Program for people who want to work in the medical field.

EKG Technicians are responsible for performing electrocardiogram tests in hospitals and physician offices. These tests are used to monitor and record electrical impulses transmitted by the heart. This course provides the student with instructions for collecting information and data about a patient’s heart using electrocardiography.

After finishing the program, the student should:

- demonstrate knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the Cardiovascular
  system
- be able to identify the phases of the cardiac cycle
- demonstrate the ability to recognize normal and abnormal EKGs
- be able to properly set up ECG equipment
- list the important information that must be included on the ECG report
- demonstrate the basic understanding of the pharmacology of drugs commonly used 
  in the treatment of cardiac disorders.

Program admission requirements

- To become a student of the EKG technician course, the person needs a high school
  diploma or GED Certificate.

- The next step is to fill out the application and pay registration fee - $ 60.00.

- New courses start every few months, each course is 13 weeks long, 4 hours per
  week. We offer Saturday classes 8 am – 12 pm and weekly classes 6 pm – 10 pm.

- Each course ends with the exam that is conducted at school. After passing the test
  with a positive result, each student receives NHA (National Healthcareer
  Association) certificate, which is accepted in every state in USA.

- As a NHA Certified EKG/ECG Technician, a person has necessary skills to perform,
  read, analyze and interpret the electrocardiogram.

- Our instructors are highly qualified teachers, doctors of medicine, registered nurses
  and Certified EKG/ECG Technicians.

- Each course consists of theoretical lectures and practical classes on the best
  electrocardiographs. During the course of the class, the students learn how to
  operate the EKG equipment and perform the EKG tests.
